This recipe is super famous, it was created in New Orleans in the ’50s. It is a dessert made with bananas and vanilla ice cream, with a sauce made of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and rum. It’s super quick and easy to make, and it’s incredibly delicious, I promise you without a doubt that if you make it, it will be an absolute success, believe me, it is reeeeeally good…hehe.
Bananas Foster
Ingredients:
Vanilla ice cream
2 sliced bananas
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp butter (30g), cold an in cubs
1/4 cup of rum (if you prefer you can do without the rum)
Directions:
In a pan, heat over medium heat, mix the orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix gently and cook until reduce and the syrup thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Add the bananas and continue mixing until the bananas are completely covered by the sauce. Add the rum and flambé the bananas. Turn off the heat and add the butter mixing constantly until fully incorporated.
In a bowl, put 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and pour over the bananas foster.
